About

FutureDude is the brainchild of writer, director, and visual futurist Jeffrey Morris. As a huge science and science–fiction enthusiast, he grew up imagining a world of flying cars, space stations, and moon bases.

Like many people, Jeffrey became disillusioned with the apparent lack of progress our society has demonstrated when compared to the propulsive technological and cultural advancements of the 20th Century.

Jeffrey sought voices in the media that shared his concerns about the direction (or lack thereof) in today’s world. As a follower of numerous media blogs, he was frustrated with how fantasy, horror, and general pop culture content was often mixed in with valuable information on science fiction, science, technology, and space exploration.

Jeffrey decided to do something about it by developing a site that is focused solely on a positive, and often serious, analysis of thoughtful views and creative visions of the future from the past and present.

FutureDude is about celebrating the continuum of knowledge as it’s expressed through the exploration of the world through science. It also is about the visionary writers, artists, and filmmakers who — throughout the ages — have helped to define distinct, beautiful, and memorable depictions of the worlds of tomorrow.

In the past decade, Jeffrey created a space science curriculum that won an award from the National Science Teachers Association. Recently, he helped bring Hollywood–style storytelling to education and public outreach for the JPL Outer Planets Program, NASA’s Master Teachers Program, and the International Space University.

His previous publications include the illustrated screenplay Slingshot which featured a foreword by astronaut Buzz Aldrin. Additionally, he is the holder of a technology patent for the futuristic Apple iOS calendar app Timesphere.
